Robots are Your Friend: Why I Stopped Worrying and Learned to Love the Drone

In today’s techie environment it’s easy to take progress for granted. We almost expect every new product, gadget, gear or gizmo to break boundaries. We suffer from innovation expectation.

When I think back to my early days and how much the social and business climate has changed I wonder what could possibly be next. With all the talk of technology’s evils we often forget the great opportunities progress has provided us with. We’re more connected than ever, more frequently in the know and have no shortage of convenience. All thanks to progress.

The thought recurred to me while working on our client Byron Hill’s new project, in Pierson Lakes, New York. Developed in the serenity of a forest and overlooking the beauty of two remote lakes, the region is located only 29 miles from the centre of Manhattan.

We were faced with some challenges of how to best capture the top-down beauty of the area while still retaining the important details of individual homesites. The solution we came up with was simple, robot drones.

Our film crew went out to Pierson Lakes with a radio-controlled quad-copter, mounted with a hi-def video camera and the results speak for themselves. I especially liked the shot that began in a living room and flew out of a balcony door to soar above the lake.

BAM Receives 10 Nominations For The 2013 BILD Awards

I was thrilled this morning to learn that BAM received 10 nominations for the 2013 BILD Awards, including Project of the Year for Empire Communities’ Victory.

Covering a wide range of expertise areas (from email marketing and logos to sales office design and web), these nominations prove we’re a one-stop shop that not only covers every possible need a client may have — we excel at it.

In particular, I was proud to learn that out of five social media finalists, three are oursHaving won the social media award last year for our Triumph social media campaign, this news only attest to our commitment to digital marketing. Our eBAM department has proved again to be ahead of the curve, providing our clients with the latest online initiatives and inbound marketing.

BAM Wins CHBA Marketing Excellence Award

Last Friday, I was honoured to watch BAM’s efforts receive a highly regarded recognition, when our long-time client Brookfield Homes (Ontario) won the CHBA Marketing Excellence Award for its project Pathways in Caledon East.

As most readers of this blog know, this important award goes to the CHBA builder member whose single project combines the best overall achievements in marketing. The award is based on the cumulative results attained in at least four Marketing Award categories.

DSCF1360

To differentiate Pathways as an exceptional new community that would appeal to families, we divided the community into six unique neighbourhoods and designed a map showing several pathways winding their way through the community. We produced gorgeous renderings of the two parks that the community will feature, as well as a stunning streetscape rendering. We also developed additional benefits for the community to offer, such as Brookfield’s Save Green program.

What’s better than winning the CHBA Marketing Excellence Award? Skiing at Lake Louise with the boys from Curb Signs and winning the CHBA.

The results? A best-selling, award-winning community that homebuyers quickly identified as ideal for strolling, walking, enjoying nature and interacting with neighbours.

Congratulation to Brookfield Homes and our team at BAM!

P.S.: Pathways campaign elements can be found in our portfolio section, including video, eblast, social media campaign, logo, print ad, and more.

Another Client Nominated for CHBA Award

PastedGraphic-1

I’m pleased to report a community of a major client of ours is nominated for CHBA’s 2012 Community Development Award.

Having played an instrumental role in the development and launch of Empire Communities’ Wyndfield over 10 years ago, we’re thrilled to see not just recognition of this caliber — we’re also thrilled to see Wyndfield reach the yardstick with which we ultimately measure success — that of sales. With 1,500 homes sold to date, Wyndfield proves, once again, that consumers aren’t really shopping for a home — instead, they’re shopping for a lifestyle.

With this principle in mind, we packaged Wyndfield as a friendly, modern master-planned community set against the backdrop of a nostalgic era, one where neighbours are friendly and features reflect an old-fashioned aesthetic. Add attractive price tags and a convenient location in Brantford, near the gorgeous Grand River, and it’s no wonder homebuyers flocked to Wyndfield.

Congratulations to our team at BAM and to Empire Communities, and Happy New Year to you!
