Our Clients Empire Communities and Brookfield Residential are Nominated for EnerQuality Energy Star Awards

I will never grow tired of hearing about our clients being nominated for awards. Not only does it mean we’ve gone after the right clients, it means we’ve done our job marketing them.

Last week, two of our biggest clients, Empire Communities and Brookfield Residential, were each nominated for EnerQuality’s ENERGY STAR for New Homes Builder of the Year award. Empire is also nominated for the Building Innovation award and the Ontario Green Builder of the Year award. I want to take this opportunity to say congratulations.

More and more, our industry is becoming greener and more environmentally conscious about building homes. Not only is this great for the environment, but homeowners benefit by living in energy efficient homes that produce higher energy savings, better air quality and fewer emissions. This message is easy for BAM to stand behind.

We’re thrilled to be a part of our clients’ success in marketing green and building a reputation for designing sustainable homes for their homeowners. While we share their vision and message, it really is the builders standing behind their commitment to advancing homebuilding and for that, they’re being recognized. Congratulations again. BAM is proud to be part of your continuing success.

Our Clients Empire Communities and Brookfield Residential are Finalists for 5 CHBA Awards!

I’m proud to announce that our clients Empire Communities and Brookfield Residential are finalists for 5 Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) National SAM awards this year.

First, Orchard Ridge Homes and Brookfield Residental’s Treetops community is nominated for Best Project Signage and Logo, Best Website and the prestigious Marketing Excellence Award.

Empire Communities is nominated for the highly coveted Green Home Award for their Manhattan model at Imagine, a new home community in Niagara Falls which we opened for Empire this year, and which is also up for Best Project Signage and Logo.

The Manhattan home showcases Empire Communities’ latest green initiative: geothermal technology! Geothermal energy can save homeowners up to 80 per cent in total heating and cooling costs over traditional home energy costs, and is offered as an option on all new homes at Empire’s Imagine community as part of a progressive new green initiative on their part.

Both clients are familiar with winning; Brookfield won the Marketing Excellence Award from CHBA last year for their Pathways in Caledon East community which we marketed, and Empire won the ENERGY STAR for New Homes Builder of the Year at the EnerQuality Awards in 2011 and was again nominated in 2012, demonstrating that they’re industry leaders when it comes to green home building.

I always enjoy these types of posts and seeing my clients and employees recognized for their success and hard work. Each time a client of ours is nominated, it’s a testament to the great things we do at BAM and to our clients’ hard work and dedication to building and providing Ontario families the best homes possible.

Congratulations again to Brookfield Residential and Empire Communities. (You can see all the finalists here.)

Go BAM go!

The Inner Workings of a Well-Oiled Machine

Bam - A Well-Oiled Machine

While I may be the face of BAM, it’s truly our team who make BAM successful. I was recently reading an article about workplace culture, and couldn’t help but compare what I read to what we have at BAM.

When running a company like BAM, everything begins with strategy. Coming up with unique brands for our clients requires unique marketing and this is what I am passionate about. We have a great team of dynamite people and a great collaborative environment where people can work together, use their strengths and skills to advance projects and learn from each other. I am a firm believer that great people attract great people.

At BAM, we’re always looking to do things better for our clients using our previous accomplishments as the benchmark. For employees, the satisfaction comes from the freedom and autonomy they deserve while being set up with the proper tools and resources to succeed. My job is to champion the strategy and inspire my team to meet their goals.

Culture is king at BAM. We strive to have a great work environment and whether it’s giving employees the flexibility to allow their personal lives not to suffer, having an open concept and collaborative environment, or organizing work outings, I know a satisfied staff is key to our success.

As a small company, there is plenty of room for everyone to grow and learn. We encourage our staff to take courses to further their knowledge; we attend trade shows, speeches and conferences to stay ahead of the curve. Encouraging our clients to offer the very best experience and community requires the very best marketing resources and a team that’s passionate about what they do.

While challenges are an inherent part of the BAM culture, we understand that they are a part of life and one’s bound to run into them when trying new things, and we push forward. It’s the teamwork and trust in one another that helps BAM succeed.

Finalists Named for 2010 CHBA National SAM Awards

The Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) has announced the finalists for the 2010 CHBA National SAM Awards, which celebrate excellence in new homes and renovation design, innovative technology and construction techniques, outstanding presentation, and marketing activities across Canada. We’re excited that two of our clients had the honour and distinction of being nominated, and that we could help them achieve this level of excellence.

Empire Communities is up for the Green Home Award for their innovation in green home building, including the recent debut of their ECO2 program, which BAM designed and launched. This program is ground-breaking in its focus on homeowner empowerment and education, including seminars and a video helping new homeowners learn about all the benefits and features of their ECO2 homes. Every Empire home is now built to the specifications of the ECO2 program, meaning homes are ENERGY STAR-qualified and include many other energy-saving features, such as Cent-a-Meters to track energy consumption in real time, solar ready rough-ins and more. The homes can also be upgraded with Empire’s ECOnomical and ECOlogical packages. You can read our Case Study of the campaign here.

Brookfield Homes is nominated for best website for www.thevillageniagara.com, a site for its community The Village in Niagara-on-the-Lake. BAM was responsible for the creative, concept and production of this website and we’re pleased to see it earning distinction. The website is designed to be useful, easy to navigate and interactive, and includes exciting features on the homepage to draw visitors in, like a photo slideshow, links to social media sites, upcoming calendar events, special inventory deals and other incentives, recent blog posts, a virtual tour of the neighbourhood and model homes, the opportunity to sign up for community updates, and more. You can read our Case Study of the website here.

Brookfield was also nominated for the Grand SAM Award, an award presented to the new home builder who best combines excellence in both the building and marketing of new homes. Brookfield credited BAM with the creative, concept and production of the work for the marketing campaign they’re nominated for, their new community in Caledon East, Pathways. BAM helped Pathways stand out as an exceptional new community that would appeal to families. We divided the community into six unique neighbourhoods, and designed a map showing several pathways winding their way through the community – a path for all passions, from biking and jogging to a dog walkers’ trail and stroller loop. We did gorgeous renderings of the two parks that the community will feature, as well as a stunning streetscape rendering. We also developed other benefits for the community to offer, like Brookfield’s “Green” Saver program. You can read our Case Study of the community’s marketing campaign here.

Awards will be announced in late February, 2011. Good luck to Empire Communities and Brookfield Homes!

Our Clients Love Us

John A. celebrates Brookfield Homes’ “Builder of the Year 2010” award in his new sweatshirt in front of the Brookfield Christmas tree in Markham. Somehow the photo got into the hands of another of our clients, Empire Communities. Maybe it’s an Empire sweatshirt, actually! We love our clients and wear their tattoos with pride.
